A friend and a neighbor

"Mike: A friend and a neighbor.
I felt like writing this note of appreciation for Mike Carney. During sometime last year and beginning of this year I was looking for
a house to buy in this area of Bordentown. I was visiting few open houses, where you meet some real estate agents and
follow-up with few incase you like the property. There are realtors and then there is Mike. First of all the reason why this makes
this note even more interesting is that Mike was never my realtor. He met me on an open house some place in Bordentown and
with his friendly charm he gave me every bit of information that anyone would look for whether it relates to that house he's selling
or not. He gave me a red book with all necessary information about the town and what to do in town.

He was very friendly to me and encouraged me to feel free to call for any question I may have. As I already decided upon a
house even prior to meeting Mike and he wasn't my realtor. But I have called him so many times for information and help where
he has offered all help without any expectations. It's hard to find such a self-less service. I talked to him once in a while about my
house move and all the basic details about the town and meanwhile also discovered that he's also a neighbor in the community.
Ever since I have moved to my new house, he's been such a great help. I couple of times I called him with a few basic
home-owner question for which he answered back and made me feel comfortable by providing best advise. So I can now call
him a good friend. Many times he visited me when I called with some question and he's a great neighbor helping me settle
down in my new home. Mike Carney of course must be thorough with his work as a realtor but my experience so far only
qualifies him as a good human being and a great person who has come forward to help me so many times when I seemed to
have some questions. I keep the red-book (that he gave me in one of the open houses where I met) very safely that contains
information about the town. It has everything from emergency #s to Pizza delivery. Something that always come in handy
for a new homeowner in a new town.

With these words I just wanted to express that he must be one of those very few real estate agents who are fully dedicated
to help the society and humanity even before their personal interest or gain.

I am sure these qualities would also make him a great realtor, with a difference.

thanks a lot Mike.

with regards,

Nimesh."

Real Estate Tips
Bargain Properties >Such A Deal

Most sellers know that buyers are attracted to homes that are spotlessly clean, well-maintained and tastefully decorated. Sometimes the seller can't make the extra effort to prepare the home for showing. Some real estate listings are being sold to settle estates or by someone who has been transferred unexpectedly and didn't have time to complete the necessary cosmetic repairs. Homes that need work are often exceptional values.

When a real estate agent shows you a house that needs help, try to imagine how it would look with new carpet, a fresh coat of paint and your furniture settled inside. Because the condition and overall appeal of a house have such an impact on the selling price, "fixer-uppers" are often priced lower than comparable homes. If the home is structurally sound and has updated systems, a small investment of "elbow grease" and paint could make it look fabulous.
